Long before we got pregnant, I began dreaming about the photographs we would want ourselves. When it was time for our maternity session, I choose my friend Holly from Katherine Holly Photography to capture this special stage. I wanted the session to be somewhat stylized, using props that were special to us and that created a very light hearted, spring feel. I am absolutely DELIGHTED with the photographs!!

I truly loved being pregnant (actually, I miss it) and Holly captured us perfectly! I can’t stop looking at the photos…. Thank you so much, Holly!

This photo was a special request of mine: Many nights Cade would curl up next to me and put his hand on my belly to feel Eva kick as we fell asleep. It was always such a precious time and I wanted to remember it.

Another HUGE part of this pregnancy was reading. Cade and I read SO MANY BOOKS about pregnancy and birth during those 9+ months. We also have a stash of “all things baby” books as well.

Last Tuesday night, Cade and I fell asleep never suspecting we’d wake up at 3:30 a.m. to begin the 9 hour journey of welcoming our baby.

Our beautiful daughter, Eva Victoria (pronounced Eh-va) was born at 12:27 p.m. at Vanderbilt Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches tall. Of course we think she is absolutely perfect!! =)

Today, one week later, I finally got the chance to take a few “official” photos of our little girl and I am SO excited to share a couple. It has been an awesome first week of learning to be Mama and delighting in her first days of life. Eva is such a good baby and we’ve been so spoiled by her smiles and sweet personality!

You KNOW I will be taking TONS of photos and posting them here, so stay tuned while I’m “out.” Just a reminder that I will be taking my maternity leave the rest of June - August. Portrait sessions will resume in September and we are booking those now, so don’t wait to get on the schedule. Availability is limited.

I married my favorite person in the whole world!

Cade and I started dating on April 2, 2005, got engaged January 2, 2006 and then said “I Do” on June 2, 2006. I honestly cannot imagine my life without him. These last 6+ years have truly been the best years of my life! I feel so blessed to have someone who laughs with me, challenges me, empties the dishwasher (just because I don’t like to), encourages me to be more giving, loves to cuddle, is a fantastic travel companion, works hard to provide for us, spoils me, holds me and listens when I’m upset, reminds me of our Savior, is so generous and puts up with my weaknesses/faults/crazy obsessions.

Even though our wedding itself was rather stressful (our venue double booked and we were told to pick a new ceremony site 3 weeks before our wedding), marriage has been awesome!! I still think one of my favorite things is simply not having to say goodnight at the end of the day, but instead getting to cuddle as we fall asleep.

I know that life as “just the two of us” will change soon, but I look forward to growing old with Cade. I am so excited about each of the adventures that are still to come.

Babe - You still take my breath away. The fact that  you love me still brings tears to my eyes! You make me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world. I love you so much!
