I love working with Bella’s family because a) they are good friends of ours and b) they are always open to my ideas. =) This year we did an urban, downtown Nashville family session to get ready for the Christmas season. I love, LOVE looking around Nashville’s streets and alleys for great spots for photos.

Look at the amazingly cute outfit Bella’s mom picked out for her!

Bella, you and your family are so bella. =)

What a precious baby! Even though Caroline was super active and had her own ideas about what our portrait session should be like, I was able to get some great images! I absolutely love the outfits her mother picked out! So adorable!

If these don’t melt mommy and daddy’s hearts, I am not sure what does. =)

Jennifer:  Can’t wait to hear what you think!

Shandus and Ryan got married on November 22, 2008 at Saint George’s Episcopal Church in Belle Meade. It was a lovely wedding and the church was beautiful! Ryan, Shandus and their bridal party were so pleasant to work with! We were able to even do a few photos outside even though it was very cold.

Since I shared photos of Shandus a few weeks ago (from her bridal session), I want to focus a bit more on Ryan. Here are just a few of my favorite portraits from their wedding!

Shandus & Ryan: congratulations! We are so happy for you and we wish you the best!

I love looking at other photographer’s work and hearing their thoughts and stories behind the images they take. It is so intriguing and inspiring!

Last night, Cade and I got to see Jeremy Cowart talk about his journey into photography. I was really surprised to hear that he became a very acclaimed photographer in only a few short years. His work is simply stunning!

After the event I was finally able to get my hands on Hope in the Dark, a coffee table book full of images from Jeremy’s trips to Africa with some reflections written by Jena Lee, from Blood:Water Mission.

If you haven’t ever seen this book or heard of BWM, I strongly encourage you to look into both. All of the proceeds from “Hope in the Dark” go to building wells to bring clean water to communities in Africa.

This book has beautiful images that will blow your mind and others that will bring a smile to your face! It doesn’t matter if you are done with your Christmas shopping or not, I strongly encourage you to pick up this amazing book and be INSPIRED!

Lucas was only shy for about the first minute of our session. Then, he was full of energy and was having too much fun going up and down the stone stairways at Percy Warner.

What a sweet family!

It was a pleasure to meet and work with you guys! I’m excited about seeing Lucas again when he turns 2!

P.S. Misty - your referrals rock! Thank you so much! =)

We are so excited to have Beth & Ravi’s amazing wedding featured in Ashley’s Bride Guide. I am so humbled and thankful that Beth named us as one of her three favorite vendors AND as the best value for the service! Wow! She and Ravi cared so much about their photos that they gave us a significant chunk of time to take amazing portraits before the ceremony! We had never had a bride allow that much time for photos before. I love it!!!

Future brides: Read Beth’s interview and take her advice. It is well worth it!!

Beth & Ravi: your wedding was indeed a special day and we LOVED working with you! Thank you both so much!!

Last week, before I took a few days off to eat turkey and ham, I met up with this beautiful family to get some photos for Christmas. Since they live only a block from 5 points (which is a fabulous place if you’ve never been) we took advantage of the great, urban backdrops.
