Josh and Alix got married on a very cold and rainy day in February. Obviously, we weren’t able to be outside for many photos, so we decided to schedule a post wedding session for just the two of them. With their wedding attire on once again and we headed out to an open field. Unfortunately, there was a huge storm on the way. Not good.

We ended up waiting indoors for about 2 hours until the rain stopped. Then we headed back outside. By then the lighting was absolutely beautiful and we had so much fun even though it was wet and muddy! Josh and Alix are so cute together!

Last month Aileen and Lee got married in the new, quaint wedding chapel at the Brentwood Baptist Church. They were both so sweet and laid back, but so excited about the fact that they were getting married! Amy Parman, from C.J.’s Off the Square, did a fabulous job of coordinating everything. (We love working with her!)

Their reception took place at the gorgeous Brentwood Country Club. The details were beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious! For their wedding cake, Aileen and Lee chose to have lots of cupcakes made by none other than one of our 2008 brides, Megan who recently started her own business, Iced: A Cupcake Boutique. She is amazing! (You definitely should try some of her cupcakes!)

Congratulations you two! We are so happy for you and we wish you the very best as you begin your married life together!

A few weeks ago we photographed Aileen’s bridal portraits at the lovely Brentwood Country Club and I have been dying to share them on the blog. She and Lee tied the knot last Saturday so now I am free to display them. When Aileen first walked out, I fell in love with her dress! I especially love the head band she found in Anthropologie. Simple but very stylish!

Aileen, you are simply gorgeous. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make these portraits for you!

On February 5, Alix and Josh stood in front of their friends and family to commit their lives together. It was such a sweet and moving ceremony. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, the day still turned out perfectly! The details were gorgeous and I simply love cute, red shoes! Don’t you?

We ended our 2009 wedding season photographing the amazing Melanie & Clayton! As we began planning all of the details for the coverage of their October wedding, they made it very clear how important it was that we have lots of time for portraits before the ceremony. In fact, they even rented a trolley bus to drive the entire bridal party (plus us) to the four different locations Melanie had picked out ahead of time. For 2 and a half hours, we had complete creative freedom to do what we wanted. Cade and I were in “portrait heaven” and everyone was having a blast! So fun!

The fabulous Boxwood Bistro hosted the reception. I absolutely loved all the details, from the modern table arrangements to the outdoor lighting on the balcony. Everything was perfect!

Clayton & Melanie: We had a blast working with you and your friends/family! It was a fabulous day and we am so excited for you both! Thank you again for fully trusting us and our creative ideas. You are a photographer’s dream!

A few weeks ago Michelle and Michael got married in the lovely Cheekwood Herb Garden. To our delight, they choose to see each other before the ceremony and we set up an intimate “first look”. Then we had a blast walking around the beautiful grounds finding wonderful places for portraits. They are one good looking couple!

Their reception began on the back patio of the Frist Learning Center. One of the many beverages they served was hot cider and it went perfect with the chilly, fall weather!

Then the guests were invited inside the tent where fun music and great food awaited them. It was a wonderful evening of celebration! Flowers by The East Garden

What a beautiful and fun wedding! Melissa and John got married a few weeks ago at the West End United Methodist Church in Nashville. All of the details were simply stunning and beautifully coordinated by the women from A Delightful Day. We had such a good time getting to hang out with them, their friends and family. Everyone was having such a good time!

Now… back to editing the images from their amazing wedding.

Last weekend I was honored to assist Kate as she photographed a wedding for Studio 5. We had a blast working together and I really enjoyed being the 2nd set of eyes! These are my favorite images from the day. Kudos to Kate for the creative posing!

A few weeks ago, Cade and I traveled up to Kansas City to attend the wedding of my dear friend, Danielle. Even though my main duty was “matron of honor”, I couldn’t help but bring my camera along to share my perspective of the events. =) The day began with brunch at an amazing, local diner. Then Danielle and I headed off to get her makeup and hair done. What a gorgeous bride!

Cade took over my un-official photographer role, so I could take a turn walking down the aisle, standing next to my friend and crying. I couldn’t help myself! =)
