Portraits of a Pug

Nashville Photographer | Marcia Truitt

I had a really fun time photographing Dan, Alana and their “baby”, Lily. Even though it was ridiculously hot outside (which is why poor Lily had her tongue hanging out of her mouth the whole time even though we gave her water) they were great sports! I am in love with their photos because let’s face it, pugs are way too cute!

Matt & Liesl: I cannot tell you how excited I am about your images! Liesl, you are absolutely beautiful and I loved photographing you! Thank you again for braving the tall grass with me and for making it such a fun session. I loved working with you both and I can’t wait to meet baby Nora in September!

I have been photographing Bella since she was a tiny baby and I love watching her grow! She is now 2 and a half and has quite the personality. What a doll!

Oh, how I love to photograph sweet little girls! And Avery was just that! She hammed it up and gave me all sorts of smiles, thanks to her daddy’s jokes. I was honored to meet up with her and her parents this last week to document both her 2nd birthday and the fact that her mommy is pregnant with her soon-to-be baby brother. We had a lot of fun and thankfully the heat didn’t wear us out! As always, here are a few of my favorites!

Daddy, Mommy and Avery: Thank you so much for allowing me to make beautiful art for you!

P.S. Charity, thank you for this amazing referral!!

What: a mini-session is a 30 minute portrait session
Who: great for families, kids, a baby, a couple, high school senior… you name it! Up to 4 individuals.
When: Saturday, August 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with a break at noon)
Where: The location is a surprise but Marcia will tell you if you ask nicely. =)
How much: $50

All of the mini sessions will run back to back and take place at the same location. Each session will begin at the time scheduled and end exactly 30 minutes later. It is extremely important that you are on time since your session will begin and end promptly. Once the mini-sessions are done, we will schedule a personal viewing and ordering session so that you can place your print/canvas gallery wrap/album orders. No products are included in the mini-session fee.

Just think, you could have your Christmas photos done by mid August this year!

Call or email now to select a time that’s best for you and reserve your mini session!

Please note that these are the only mini-sessions we will be offering in 2009.

Sweet Caroline is growing up so fast and speaking of fast, I literally had run to keep up with her during our session the other day. =) I agree with her mother. She is probably the most active one year old I’ve ever photographed. It was a challenge but I am so happy with the images!

As we were ending our session, Caroline found a puddle of water. Because it was so hot and humid outside, her mama let her play. What an adorable face!

Thank you again for allowing me to make art for you!

There are some serious dog lovers here in East Nashville. Beaudalaire and Ernie, our neighbor’s babies, are some of the cutest and most friendly pugs I’ve ever seen.

Girl, you are so precious and beautiful! I really had fun working with you! Best wishes as you head to OSU this fall!

As many of you already know, our studio depends almost exclusively on word-of-mouth referrals. From the start, we chose to keep our costs down by not paying for print or online advertising for our portrait photography. This means we are a bit harder to find but we believe that satisfied clients make the best marketers EVER!

When I get referral emails or calls, you can see every last one of my teeth. That’s how big I grin.

I have been dreaming of ways to thank each of you for referring us to your friends and today, I am ever-so-happy to announce that we now have our very own Referral Program, “A Big Thank You”. Every time you refer us to a friend and they book a portrait session, we will send you a $20 gift certificate. You may apply the $$ towards purchasing any of our products or packages AND if you have more than one, you can combine them. No limits!!

Guess what? It gets even better. “A Big Thank You” is retroactive. That’s right! For all of you amazing people who have already referred us, you will receive a certificate for each individual who booked us. For a lot of you, Christmas is coming early this year.

So in the future when your friends book us, be sure they give us your name. I don’t want you to miss out on any gift certificates!

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Muchas gracias.

After Cade and I got married in 2006, we moved to Nashville and for the first time, began making friends as a pair. We quickly fell in love with the East Nashville community that we were surrounded in. Over the last three years we have laughed, partied, worked and cried with our dear friends who have shared their lives with us.

Real community is such a beautiful thing, both in joy and in sorrow!

One of our dear friends here in Nashville, and a sister in Christ, was in a very serious auto accident back in 1996. She was in critical care for 8 weeks because she broke her neck. It is a miracle that she can walk today! However, ever since her accident, Ruthie has suffered chronic and intolerable pain. Recently, doctors discovered a surgical wire in her back that broke and is piercing her spinal cord. It must be removed and the tab for the surgery will be in excess of $100,000. Their insurance policy excludes this surgery because it is a “pre-existing condition”.

When I heard that many members of our Nashville community were planning and participating in a Benefit concert and silent auction, I cried. What love and compassion!

There will be amazing music by Mindy Smith, Sixpence None the Richer, Griffin House and many more talented artists. Some of the items/services up for auction include studio production from Paul Moak (Mat Kearney, Trent Dabbs, Nathan Lee), a photo shoot from Tec Petaja (Paper Route), Drum Lessons from Jeremy Lutito (Jars of Clay, Mat Kearney), Video from Jeff Wyatt Wilson (K.S. Rhoads, Ten out of Tenn film), hair cut & color from Fruition stylists, makeovers from well known local stylists, gift cards for local restaurants and businesses AND a Portrait Session by yours truly! (Yup, you can come bid on us and ALL of the proceeds will go to Ruthie!!!)

Even if you don’t know Ruthie personally, please COME, enjoy the music and be a part of the love!

This event will start at 6 PM on June 4th at Rocketown. Tickets are $20.
