Long before we got pregnant, I began dreaming about the photographs we would want ourselves. When it was time for our maternity session, I choose my friend Holly from Katherine Holly Photography to capture this special stage. I wanted the session to be somewhat stylized, using props that were special to us and that created a very light hearted, spring feel. I am absolutely DELIGHTED with the photographs!!

I truly loved being pregnant (actually, I miss it) and Holly captured us perfectly! I can’t stop looking at the photos…. Thank you so much, Holly!

This photo was a special request of mine: Many nights Cade would curl up next to me and put his hand on my belly to feel Eva kick as we fell asleep. It was always such a precious time and I wanted to remember it.

Another HUGE part of this pregnancy was reading. Cade and I read SO MANY BOOKS about pregnancy and birth during those 9+ months. We also have a stash of “all things baby” books as well.

Big sister Alvie is very excited about her little brother who is coming sometime later this summer!

It is so sweet to see how big sister Alvie interacts with her baby brother. He even gave her a good “kick”. =)

That afternoon, I also took some portraits of Alvie by herself, but I’ll post those first thing next week! Happy Thursday everyone!

5 years ago this summer, Cade and I began our photography business. We photographed many weddings together and really enjoyed getting to know each bride and groom. As time went on, I began getting more and more “little people” clients and I quickly realized where my true passion lies. =)

I am SO pleased to announce that after many months of planning and preparation, we are switching the focus of our business to:

Baby and Children’s Photography

There is something about the innocence, laughter, curiosity, and utter cuteness of babies and kids that grabs my heart! And as you already know, we are expecting our own baby girl this June, thus the timing couldn’t be more perfect! =)

As we make this transition, there are two small changes that we are implementing immediately: 1) Upon booking your portrait session, the complete session fee is due in order to hold your date. 2) There will be a $30 rescheduling fee for any date changes that are not related to sickness or bad weather.

Both of these new policies will help me to schedule our business and personal lives in an efficient manner so that I can continue to provide each of you with the best service possible. I want to be one of Nashville’s favorite baby and children’s photographers, but I also want to be an amazing mommy to our daughter!

Last fall we had the privilege of meeting Jared & Michelle at Clayton & Melanie’s amazing fall wedding. They are all close friends and needless to say, I was thrilled when Michelle told me that they are expecting a little girl in October. How fun!!

For me maternity sessions are so special… such excitement and suspense in the air!

Whose bump is bigger? =)

I’m so excited to meet your little one!

I am so excited to share these images partly because I am tickled pink with each and everyone one of them, but more because Nicole is a dear friend. I can’t wait to meet her little girl in just a few weeks! She is one hot momma!

You guys are SO cute and I can’t wait to meet “la bebé”.

Matt & Liesl: I cannot tell you how excited I am about your images! Liesl, you are absolutely beautiful and I loved photographing you! Thank you again for braving the tall grass with me and for making it such a fun session. I loved working with you both and I can’t wait to meet baby Nora in September!

Oh, how I love to photograph sweet little girls! And Avery was just that! She hammed it up and gave me all sorts of smiles, thanks to her daddy’s jokes. I was honored to meet up with her and her parents this last week to document both her 2nd birthday and the fact that her mommy is pregnant with her soon-to-be baby brother. We had a lot of fun and thankfully the heat didn’t wear us out! As always, here are a few of my favorites!

As many of you already know, our studio depends almost exclusively on word-of-mouth referrals. From the start, we chose to keep our costs down by not paying for print or online advertising for our portrait photography. This means we are a bit harder to find but we believe that satisfied clients make the best marketers EVER!

When I get referral emails or calls, you can see every last one of my teeth. That’s how big I grin.

I have been dreaming of ways to thank each of you for referring us to your friends and today, I am ever-so-happy to announce that we now have our very own Referral Program, “A Big Thank You”. Every time you refer us to a friend and they book a portrait session, we will send you a $50 gift certificate. You may apply the $$ towards purchasing any of our products or packages AND if you have more than one, you can combine them. No limits!!

Guess what? It gets even better. “A Big Thank You” is retroactive. That’s right! For all of you amazing people who have already referred us, you will receive a certificate for each individual who booked us. For a lot of you, Christmas is coming early this year.

I’ll admit it, if there were a 12 step program for facebook addicts, I would probably be admitted by none other than my baby, Cade. Sigh. Well, he probably wouldn’t do it, but facebook IS addicting! =) My main excuse for the hours I have spent searching, looking at and stalking my friends is this: in no other (single) place do I have contact with someone from each of the 12 different settings/groups/cities that I have been a part of throughout my young life. That’s right. I have facebook friends that knew me when I was born, others who watched me grow up, some who went to one of the 3 colleges I did, professional photographer friends and some that go to our church… to name a few of the 12. These friends span at least 5 continents which makes this daily connection all the more fun!!

IMHO, it doesn’t get any better than that… unless of course I could travel to Italy, Australia, Germany, China, Spain, Turkey, Chile, Argentina, Canada, Mexico and Ecuador everyday!
