I love how Emma Ruth expresses herself through her hands. She is too cute!!

Gabriel is a very friendly little boy. We played all sorts of games during his 3 year old photo session.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast times goes by, and how quickly babies grow up into little boys or girls. When I “met” Leela for the first time, she was still inside her mommy’s tummy and now she’s 3 years old. And as cute as ever!

… but after a bit Leela and her dollie wanted in on the fun too! I love spontaneous hugs like this.

Jackson and Maddox are growing up so fast!! They are now 2 years and 6 months old. You would never know it but Jackson was super shy that day and did NOT want to have anything to do with me. 50 minutes later… super Grandma (Nanu) came to the rescue. She ended up laying down in the leaves, covering herself with them and played “peak-a-boo”. Clearly you can see the awesome results with Jackson’s laughter! Love it!!

After only 4 months of being a mommy, I know firsthand that babies/kids become more and more fun the older they get. Keegan is now 2 and definitely twice as fun as when I last saw him!! =)

You know I absolutely LOVE when props are brought along. Keegan has been learning to play the drums for months now. It is so fun to see how kids let loose when they are in their element (which is partly why I love using props like this.) Little rock star!

I *heart* how shy kids can be when you first start a session… but it usually doesn’t take long for their adorable personalities to shine!

Love these two!! =)

I have been photographing little Liam since he was 3 months old. It is so hard for me to believe that he is now a year and a half! Liam was one of the most entertaining subjects I’ve ever photographed. Seriously. The sweetest and happiest little boy EVER! My face hurt after the session from laughing so much. (Thank, little buddy!)

A Big Thank You

04.07.2011

Just in case you didn’t know, we have an amazing referral program! Here are the details copied from a post I made last year.

*****************

As many of you already know, our studio depends almost exclusively on word-of-mouth referrals. From the start, we intentionally chose to keep our overhead costs down by not paying for print or online advertising. This means we might be a bit harder to find, but we believe that satisfied clients make the best marketers EVER! So many of you have already sent your friends our way, and we couldn’t be more thankful!

When I get referral emails or calls, you can see every last one of my teeth. That’s how big I grin. That’s how happy it makes me!!!

I have been dreaming of ways to thank each of you for referring us to your friends and today, I am ever-so-happy to announce that we now have our very own Referral Program, “A Big Thank You”. Every time you refer us to a new friend and they book a portrait session, we will send you a $50 gift certificate. You may apply the $$ towards purchasing any of our products or packages AND if you have more than one, you can combine them. No limits!!

So don’t forget to tell your friends about us AND remind them to mention your name when they book a session. I don’t want to miss “thanking you.”

Once again, from the bottom of my heart: Thank you for not only being wonderful clients, but also for spreading the word!

I really love using fun and unique props/accessories for our portrait sessions. They not only add interest to the photo and establish a theme or feel (vintage/modern/fun etc), but they can make the photos that much more personal, especially if you are using a prop that is your own. I always get a lot of questions about what props and accessories parents should bring along. So I wanted to share some ideas which you can take literally if you want, or hopefully they will inspire you to come up with ideas of your own. (Note: I have a stash of my own props that I can bring, but if you have your own, they will make your session that much more unique and special.)

These are just a few ideas I’ve used in the past. There are tons of other options such as vintage high chairs, old Coca-Cola wooden cases, wooden ladders, benches, antique strollers, crates/baskets full of apples, books, vintage couches/chairs, etc… I think you get the point. =)

So as you plan for your next session, be thinking about what you can bring that is either meaningful to you and your child, or just plain cute! I can’t wait to see your ideas (and find some more of my own too - I constantly have my eyes open for deals on craigslist or flea markets)!

Happy Friday everyone!
